The House of Turap Istanbul Bed and Breakfast I
This is a small, clean and charming home in Uskudar, which is a district of Istanbul, Turkey. Turap (a native of Turkey) has opened his flat in Uskudar to guests and lives on the property with them. The home offers a shared kitchen and a shared bathroom.

It is an easy 10 minute walk from his home to the boats/ferries that can take you very inexpensively from Uskudar to other parts of Istanbul (20 minutes) or to the European side (10 minutes). The cost is less than one Euro for each trip. Ferries run from 5 am to 12 midnight.
The House is located within the antique and secondhand furniture district of Uskudar. Beautiful public markets are located one block away from Turap's home. Many good restaurants, cafes and coffee bars are also within the area.

You can cook in Turap's kitchen and store things in his refrigerator. The bathroom is simple but clean. For an extra cost Turap can cook for you. He is an excellent cook and specializes in home style regional Turkish food. Turap is also available (at extra cost) to show you his beautiful city of Istanbul as your private guide. You will, of course, want to venture out on your own and Turap will tell you where to go, how to get there and in general offer hospitality for which the Turkish people are famous. If you are looking for a real experience of living with Turkish people in a safe working class area of Istanbul then the House of Turap Bed and Breakfast is for you.

You can have a car and driver pick you up at the airports in Istanbul. Remember there are two airports: IST is Ataturk International Airport and the other is SAW, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. Travel time is approximately one hour, although travel from SAW can sometimes take longer depending on traffic. Cost for the car and driver is between 60 and 70 Euros one way for up to 4 guests. We will provide car and driver contact information and you pay the driver directly.

Or you can take public transportation which sometimes can be a challenge but fun if you have the energy and the time. Remember, Istanbul has a population of 16 million people with lots of traffic. So, if you take public transportation it is a boat ride, a taxi ride and then a metro or bus ride.
